ByeongDoo Moon
ByeongDoo Moon was born in Korea and moved to the United States after years of traveling the world showcasing his artwork. He now resides on Long Island. He began in the arts with drawing out of curiosity at a young age. In high school, an art teacher, who was also a sculptor, brought him into the art club and his course hasn’t changed since. His form of work shifts back and forth between what he sees and what we see. Linear objects convey meaning by vibrating at the boundary between sight and memory. He explores an aspect of the existential question of modern people living today. ByeongDoo Moon is a sculptor who has mastered the art of stainless steel to explore the coexistence of humans and nature. Developing a sense of unity through countless bending and welding of sharp, cold wires, he has created work that delves into the temperature of living creatures and metal.
